Meet Our Founders

Bridge began with two women who wanted a place that puts care and clear teaching first.

Amy headshot

Amy is a physical therapist with more than ten years of hospital and rehab experience. She is also a stage IV cancer survivor who has rebuilt her strength many times. Amy brings calm teaching, steady encouragement, and a deep belief that every person deserves support. She helps people move with confidence and find strength that fits their real lives.

Astrid headshot

Astrid is a strength coach with a degree in Exercise Science and years of experience coaching adults and athletes. She has trained in Olympic weightlifting and knows how to teach strength in a clear and simple way. Astrid believes people learn best when they feel supported, and she helps each person build confidence through steady progress. She creates a calm space where beginners and experienced lifters can grow at their own pace.

Our story preview

Our Founding Story

Bridge began during a time of change. Two women with very different backgrounds came together with one shared goal: to create a safe and welcoming place for people to get strong. Through uncertainty, closed doors, and a lot of hope, they built a community that believes in clear teaching, steady progress, and real care.

Testimonials

“Amy and Astrid assisted in my recovery from two total knee replacements. My independence, health, strength, mobility and relevance are dependent on my enjoyment of doing a work out. They make certain of my success by listening to me and observing how I’m moving during workouts. They will listen to you, invest in you, and scale your workouts to keep you healthy, strong and wanting to come back.”

— Shelly Dewberry aka “Shells”

“I absolutely love this gym. Amy and Astrid have been amazing coaches. Their focus on moving correctly and proper form has helped me gain strength and prevent injuries. Also, the workout programming is honestly great.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be in shape to start?

No. You can start at any level. We teach every movement in a clear and simple way, and you can move at the pace that feels right for you.

What happens at the Readiness Assessment?

We talk about your goals, your history, and how your body feels. We guide you through a few easy movements so we can see what you need. There is no pressure and no heavy lifting.

Can I train with old injuries or pain?

Yes. Many of our members come in with past injuries or fear of movement. Our coaching is shaped by physical therapy, and we help you stay safe while you build strength.

Is Bridge beginner friendly?

Yes. Our Foundations program is made for new lifters and for anyone who feels nervous or out of practice. We teach everything step by step.

Is Bridge good for older adults?

Yes. Our Bridge+ program is designed by physical therapists for adults over 55 who want better balance, mobility, and confidence.

Will I be pushed too hard?

No. We do not use high pressure or fast workouts. You will learn at a steady pace with options that fit your body.

What should I bring to my assessment?

Comfortable clothes and a water bottle. You do not need to feel ready or “in shape.” We will guide you from the moment you walk in.

How often should I come each week?

Most people do well with two to three sessions a week. We will help you choose the schedule that fits your goals and your life.

Can I join if I am coming from physical therapy?

Yes. Many of our members start with us after PT. We help you continue your strength work in a safe and supportive way.

Do you offer personal training?

Yes. We offer one on one sessions for people who want extra guidance, special attention, or a slower pace.

Ready to get started?
